Chemical biology

Chemical Biology deals with molecular tools and methods that enable the chemical modification of biomolecules in order to understand and interfere with biological processes. This course will focus on the modification of proteins and sugars in complex medium ranging from in vitro to in vivo applications. In this respect, this class will provide the students with all the knowledge necessary to perform chemistry in water, from the basic methods of bioconjugation to the most up-to-date drug-delivery strategies.
