Synthesis of bioactive compounds

 This is an advanced course in organic chemistry, it will deal with the multistep synthesis of low molecular weight bioactive molecules. The course will emphasize on heteroaromatic-based natural products, drugs and drug candidates.
Heterocycles are key subunits of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and many biologically important natural compounds. The course will focus on some important methods of synthesis and reactivity of main heteroaromatics. Case stories from medicinal chemistry will be discussed.
