Description
Short Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the underlying spectroscopy linked to atmospheric and astrophysical studies.
Long Description:
A special focus will be made on climate change and air pollution which are two key issues in current atmospheric research. Examples of observation of atmospheric key species by satellites and ground-based observatories will be given. The process of deducing mixing ratios from atmospheric spectra (retrieval) will be described and detailed.
Pré-requis nécessaires
Basic knowledge of L3/M1 level spectroscopy in chemistry or physics. Physico-chemistry of the atmosphere and astrophysics.
Contrôle des connaissances
Final exam (100%) : Project (report + presentation)
