Présentation
The International Master in Solid Earth Sciences aims to train high-level geoscientists, who will continue their study for a PhD either at IPGP or elsewhere, in an academic or industrial context. Students are awarded a ten-month scholarship and are encouraged to choose their courses and research internship among the wide variety of possibilities offered by IPGP researchers and their industrial partners, as per their wishes. This second year master program is entirely taught in English: it welcomes every year a dozen of students coming from all over the world, having a solid background in fundamental sciences.
This program is part of the Graduate School of Earth Planets Universe at Université Paris Cité. It combines Master's and PhD courses with advanced research labs, aiming to train top scientists and engineers in geosciences, astrophysics, the physics of the universe, and space sciences. Read more >

Admission
Conditions d'admission
Minimum four years of undergraduate/master’s degree, European M1 level or USA/Asian B4 (senior)
equivalent, in (geo-) physics, (geo-) chemistry, geology, computer sciences, mathematics and/or engineering.
A strong background in mathematics, physics and computer sciences is required, along with some prior exposure to Earth Sciences through courses or internships.
Fluency in English is required: minimum B2, ideally C1 level (as confirmed by a test score e.g. TOEFL or IELTS; if student has studied in a program where the medium of instruction is English, a letter attesting of this is sufficient)
Selection for admission to the Master’s program and for awarding of a scholarship is based on academic criteria. Students with annual average grades of 14/20 and above are especially encouraged to apply.
Modalités de candidature
